Privacy policy

Ranger is a messaging program operated by Couched Ideas, LLC, the entity responsible for the personal information described below. You can reach us at hello@couchedideas.com.

• We do not sell your personal information, and we never share your mobile number or your SMS consent with third parties or affiliates for their marketing purposes.
• We collect the minimum needed to run the service and bill for it.
• You can delete your account and your message history at any time.

• Account details. Your name, email address, and mobile number in E.164 format.
• Consent records. The exact consent wording you agreed to, the date and time, the IP address you submitted from, and your browser user agent. We keep this to prove opt-in to carriers.
• Messages. The text you send to Ranger and the replies we send back, so conversations have context and so we can count usage against your plan.
• Usage and billing. Message counts, token counts, and subscription status. Card details go directly to Stripe; we never see or store them.

• To send you the replies you asked for.
• To meter usage against your plan and process payment.
• To send account notices such as billing or plan changes.
• To answer support requests and prevent abuse of the service.

We do not use your messages to send you marketing, and we do not use them to train models.

We share data only with the service providers that make Ranger work, and only as far as each one needs:

• Twilio — delivers SMS to and from your carrier.
• Anthropic — generates the assistant replies from your message text.
• Supabase — hosts our database.
• Stripe — processes subscription payments.

We may also disclose information if the law requires it. Beyond that, no mobile information is sold or shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes, and text-messaging originator opt-in data and consent are never shared with any third party.

Message history is retained while your account is active. Consent records are retained for at least four years after opt-out, because carrier and regulatory rules require us to be able to produce them. Everything else is deleted within 30 days of account deletion.

• Email hello@couchedideas.com to request a copy of your data, correct it, or delete your account.

Ranger is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their information.
