Messaging terms

Couched Ideas, LLC operates a conversational SMS assistant. You text a question to Ranger at (number pending), we run it through an AI assistant that can search the web on your behalf, and we text the answer back to the same number. The service exists for moments when you have cellular voice and SMS coverage but little or no data.

This is a two-way conversational program. We do not send promotional or marketing text messages.

You opt in by submitting the form at ranger-web.couched-ideas.workers.dev/register with your mobile number and checking the consent box. The box is never pre-checked, and consent is not a condition of any purchase. The exact wording you agree to is:

I agree to receive text messages from Ranger at the mobile number I provided, including assistant replies and account notifications. Message frequency varies and depends on how often I text Ranger. Message and data rates may apply. I can reply HELP for help or STOP to cancel at any time. Consent is not a condition of purchase.

We record that wording, along with the date, time, and IP address of your submission, so we can show exactly what you agreed to if a carrier or you ever asks.

Message frequency varies and is driven by you. You receive roughly one reply for each message you send, plus occasional account notices such as billing or plan changes. We do not send unsolicited messages.

A single reply can arrive as more than one text message: SMS splits long messages into segments, and your phone may show each segment separately. Expect up to 5 messages for each message you send.

Message and data rates may apply. Those charges come from your mobile carrier under your own plan, not from Ranger. Your Ranger subscription is billed separately and is described in our Terms of Service.

Reply STOP to any message from Ranger at any time. We send one final confirmation and then stop messaging that number. You can also email hello@couchedideas.com and ask us to remove your number.

Neither the carriers nor Ranger are liable for delayed or undelivered messages. Delivery depends on your carrier and your coverage, and Ranger cannot guarantee that any individual message is delivered.

The program works on US mobile numbers that can send and receive standard SMS. It does not require a smartphone, a data plan, or an app. Short-code-only devices and some prepaid VoIP numbers may not be able to reach our number.

Your mobile number and the contents of your messages are handled as described in our Privacy Policy. We do not sell your information, and we do not share your mobile number or SMS consent with third parties for their own marketing.
